Ray Bixler (Chief Executive Officer) has over 20 years of sales leadership and general management experience, Ray is a seasoned executive whose focus has been the management and improvement of client relationships, the development of client-focused marketing strategies, and new business development. Prior to joining SkillSurvey, Ray served as Vice President with Caliper, an organizational development consulting firm, where he consulted with hundreds of small and mid-size businesses and several F500 organizations in developing better hiring, development, performance management and succession planning strategies. Previous to that, he honed his management expertise at WorldCom/MCI and RCN Corporation. After attending Drexel University, Ray received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Immaculata University.
Dr. Cynthia Hedricks (Chief Analytics Officer) has diverse experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting behavioral and biological data gathered in the applied setting. In her role as Chief Analytics Officer at SkillSurvey in Wayne, PA, Dr. Hedricks integrates market demands and OD client consulting with technological HR innovations and psychometric research principles. Dr. Hedricks has both national and international consulting experience, helping to improve quality of hire at organizations such as Poudre Valley Health Systems, University of Pennsylvania Health System, Quest Diagnostics, Kohl’s, CH2M HILL, GlaxoSmithKline (US, UK), Reebok, Johnson-Diversey, and Wal-Mart (Canada, Mexico, US). Before joining SkillSurvey in June of 2007, Cynthia was Senior Vice President of Research & Development for nine years at Caliper, in Princeton, NJ, a firm that provides an assessment for employee selection to companies in 31 different countries. Cynthia’s most recent projects have included: building talent communities in healthcare; combining ‘high tech’ with ‘high touch’ in healthcare talent management; and the psychometric integrity of online reference checking. She serves as an expert advisor on Measuring Quality of Hire, a learning track offered by the Human Capital Institute. Her affiliations include the Human Resource Planning Society (HRPS), Society for Human Resources (SHRM), and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). Prior to her corporate experiences, she published research in the fields of nursing (College of Nursing, Univ. Illinois-Chicago) and occupational therapy/occupational science (Univ. Southern California). Cynthia has a Ph.D. in Biopsychology from The University of Chicago.
Jack Kramer (VP, Field Operations) has over 23 years experience driving sales and go-to market strategies for technology companies. Prior to joining SkillSurvey, he held the position of Vice President and General Manager of SumTotal Systems’ international operations. In that role, he was responsible for sales, marketing, professional services and customer support across EMEA, APAC, Latin America and Japan where he energized sales in EMEA and Japan and opened new markets in China, India, and the Middle East. Prior to the General Manager role at SumTotal, he also served as vice president of Global Alliances for SumTotal. In that post, he was responsible for driving strategy, sales and support for SumTotal partners specializing in business process outsourcing, systems integration, OEM and content development. Kramer joined SumTotal after the company acquired Pathlore Software Corporation, a rival maker of learning management systems, in October 2005. Before that, he led the North American sales force for Pathlore, which he joined in 2002. He had previously headed up sales and marketing at Catalyst International, a leading supply chain execution software supplier. Kramer has earned kudos at both start-ups and publicly traded companies for turning around poorly performing teams, revamping processes and supercharging sales. Earlier in his career, he held roles selling enterprise software applications for Computer Associates, Pansophic and NCR Corporation.
Burke LaShell (VP, Engineering) is responsible for software development and computer operations at SkillSurvey. Prior to joining SkillSurvey, Mr. LaShell was a thought leader at The Vanguard Group. At Vanguard, Mr. LaShell served as Agile Process Expert where he designed the Vanguard Agile development methodology, coached hundreds of teams, and created custom training attended by thousands of Vanguard crew. This experience helped Mr. LaShell create the low-risk, responsive, software development process used at SkillSurvey. Throughout his 20 year career, Mr. LaShell served in various positions such as software delivery manager, Master Architect, project manager, developer, and technical lead. Mr. LaShell has a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Purdue University, and a M.S. in Engineering, Management of Technology from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Mark Norek (VP, Finance) has more than 20 years of experience in progressively challenging positions in finance and accounting. Prior to joining SkillSurvey, Mark was the finance and information technology leader for Constantia Colmar, Inc. The position was part of the management team and board of directors for this turnaround entity owned by an Austria-based global entity. He was responsible for enhancing the manufacturing and accounting systems to provide more timely and accurate information. Prior to joining Constantia Colmar, Inc., Mark was the Senior Director for International Accounting Operations at Amkor Technology, Inc. He integrated the accounting functions for acquired operations in Japan and Taiwan and also provided ongoing coordination between the corporate headquarters, operations headquarters and manufacturing sites. Mark joined Amkor Technology, Inc. from BetzDearborn Inc. At BetzDearborn, Mark was the Director of International Accounting. He was directly involved in the integration of acquired companies throughout Latin America and Asia Pacific. He was also responsible for the consolidated reporting and analyses of all the locations in these regions. He joined BetzDearborn, Inc. from Ernst & Young where he held the position of Senior Manager, Audit. Mark joined Ernst & Young after graduating from The Pennsylvania State University.
Darica Ward (VP, New and Emerging Markets) is responsible for setting the direction of SkillSurvey’s marketing, brand recognition and product management strategies. Ms. Ward has been a human capital management leader and software entrepreneur for more than 12 years establishing specific expertise in the health care vertical. Prior to joining Skillsurvey, she was the co-founder of Competency Assessment Solutions (CAS), a leading provider of performance management software for hospitals. Her success at CAS was punctuated by its successful acquisition by Lawson Software in 2006. Prior to CAS, Ms. Ward had human resource leadership roles at Inova Health System and Verizon Communications including compensation, HR strategy and HR operations. She started her career at Mercer Consulting in their Performance and Rewards Practice after receiving her MBA from The American University.
Steve Heister (VP, Product Management) has over 13 years of experience in business management software and talent acquisition solutions. He works directly with recruiting teams and hiring managers to improve their quality-of-hire and to increase their recruiting efficiency through technology. His company’s work includes helping Fortune 500 firms like eBay, Kohl’s and McDonald’s. Previously, Steve was with leading technology firms in North America like Towers Watson, Acsis, Epicor, Activant and Prophet 21. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, with a minor in actuarial science, from the University of Pennsylvania.
